Stevie Ray Vaughan was an American musician, singer, songwriter, record producer, and one of the most influential guitarists in the revival of blues in the 1980s. He is regularly referred to as one of the greatest guitar players of all time. He dropped out of high school in 1971 and moved to Austin, Texas the following year. He played gigs with multiple bands and artists until releasing his debut album Texas Flood” which charted at number 28 in 1983 and sold over half a million copies. He won six Grammy Awards and was inducted posthumously into the Blues Hall of Fame in 2000, the Musicians Hall of Fame in 2014, and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2015.
