Limited 180 gram red colored vinyl LP pressing. The third album from PIL, originally released in 1981. Another set of harsh, avant-garde, post-punk from John Lydon's post-Sex Pistols group. While Metal Box/Second Edition was characterized by throbbing bass tones and violent guitar scrapes, The Flowers Of Romance is much more drum and synthesizer heavy. This was the result of bassist Jah Wobble getting kicked out of the band before recording the 3rd record (for stealing PIL rhythm tracks for his own solo recordings) and guitarist Keith Levene more and more obsessed with synths. Perhaps the most uncompromising PiL album and another classic post-punk title.
